Late. Shri Nathmall Khaitan

In 1952, Nathmall Khaitan migrated from Sujangadh, Rajasthan, to Calcutta, India along with his brother Jankilall and cousins. As a visionary, he laid the foundation for the Khaitan family businesses, which has now grown to become India’s largest manufacturer of metal-based technical textiles, thriving in its fourth generation. His entrepreneurial spirit and determination were instrumental in building a legacy that continues to flourish today.

Each company that he established today has achieved market leadership in India with adequate installed capacity and highest market share in segments being served.

WMW Industries Ltd. (then GKD India Ltd.) was established in 2012 as a joint venture between the BVK Group and GKD Gebr. Kufferath AG, Germany. The BVK Group's own journey in technical mesh manufacturing began in 1963, giving the company over six decades of combined heritage.

GKD India Ltd. was the predecessor entity to WMW Industries Ltd. It was formed in 2011-12 as a JV between WMW Metal Fabrics (BVK Group) and GKD Germany, bringing together German weaving technology with India's manufacturing expertise. In June 2024, the JV was fully acquired by WMW Metal Fabrics and rebranded as WMW Industries Ltd.

A pivotal milestone was the 2024 acquisition of the GKD India JV by WMW Metal Fabrics Ltd., consolidating the business fully under the BVK Group banner and the WMW brand - enabling greater operational agility, a unified product portfolio, and a stronger global identity.

Originally focused on woven metallic mesh for pulp and paper applications, WMW has expanded to serve over 10 major industries. Today its portfolio spans process mesh solutions, process fabric solutions, decorative mesh for architecture, filter elements, multi-layer disk filters, pleated mesh filters, and custom-engineered specialty mesh products.
