Answers to the questions we receive most about process mesh solutions.
Process mesh refers to precision-woven wire mesh used as a filter medium or structural element in industrial processes. Applications include liquid filtration, gas filtration, particle separation, catalyst support, straining in pipelines, and as support/drainage layers in multi-layer filter systems.
WMW process meshes are available in AISI Stainless Steel grades 304L, 310S, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 317L, and 904L, as well as Phosphor Bronze, Hastelloy, Duplex Stainless Steel, Titanium, and hybrid metal-synthetic weaves for special applications.
WMW produces plain weave (square mesh), twill weave, Dutch weave (plain and twill), reverse Dutch weave, and multi-layer laminated mesh. Each weave type offers different filtration characteristics and structural properties for specific industrial requirements.
The right mesh depends on particle size to be retained (filtration rating in microns), liquid or gas flow rate, operating pressure and temperature, chemical compatibility, and mechanical stress. WMW's technical team provides free application consultations to help customers identify the optimal mesh specification.
WMW supplies process mesh in standard roll widths up to 2,500 mm and in cut-to-size pieces, shaped blanks, and fully fabricated filter elements, depending on customer requirements.
